I saw a preview for this on TCM. I think the first episode airs Saturday March 5th at 8 pm. Bogdanovich hosts and apparently hopes to reintroduce the public to great directors/films with which they may be unfamiliar. He mentioned Welles first in his list of directors and there were some stills from Shanghai in the promo. I checked my Cable Guide and it had some movie listed for that time slot. Maybe Peter does intros and outros for the films he wants to show. Worth a look.

Here's the TCM link: TCM

It looks like the first show will be Preston Sturges' Miracle of Morgan's Creek. Other shows will be Lady from Shanghai on March 12th, George Cukor's Adam's Rib on March 19th, The Band Wagon on March 26th, North by Northwest on April 2nd, His Girl Friday on April 9th, The Grand Illusion on April 16th, Out of the Past on April 23rd, and Swing Time on April 30th. The TCM listings for May aren't posted yet. I hope he does more Welles and perhaps something a bit more obscure as the series progresses, though I doubt he'll premiere The Other Side of the Wind.

They did this series last year, with Sidney Pollack introducing films. As you surmised, basically the host does a brief opening where they talk about the film, and then wrap up at the end. Pollack did Touch of Evil during his run, though I didn't watch to see what he said about it.

It's a little more pertinant to hear what Bogdanovich has to say - though I hope he doesn't read from This Is Orson Welles as he did for his Shanghai DVD commentary.

On May 18th TCM will show Othello, Mr Arkadin, The Immortal
Story, F for Fake, and The Trial. Iam very happy to see that
The Immortal Story will be shown because i have a lousy vhs
copy of it and i hope TCM shows a restored print. Great news
for Welles fans!! :)

Peter did a "nice little" intro for Shanghai, but had no new relevations. Considering his knowledge of the many stars and directors he knew and interviewed, somebody should give Peter an entire show to relate his experiences.
