Yes, we all know Joseph Cotton went on to have a successful Hollywood career. But in my recent viewing of MR. SKEFFINGTON (1944) based on a story by Elizabeth von Arnim, one of many of H.G. well's numerous lovers, I noticed the presence of GC in the cast playing the bored psychoanalyst at the end of the film, fatigued at dealing with affluent ladies with trivial concerns. Obviously, his acting denoted, "I don't think it is fun to be a psychoanalyst"!
Uncredited is the older doctor earlier in the film played by Erskine Sanford who announces the heroine's pregnancy in a manner suggsting more than a touch of humor.
These actors continued their skills well after the RKO debacle following AMBERSONS.

Yes, Coulouris had a long career into the 80s with notable later appears in Papillon and Murder on the Orient Express. Welles cast Sanford in every one of his Hollywood productions during the actor's career (apart from Journey Into Fear) including small parts in Jane Eyre and The Stranger and more prominent appearances in The Lady From Shanghai and Macbeth. Sanford appeared to have retired in 1952; otherwise, he may very well have secured a spot in Touch of Evil (a film that had Welles find roles for many of the actors he had worked with when he started at R.K.O.).

Before CITIZEN KANE was first shown on BBC TV, George would be a familiar face in post-war British film and television, even appearing in HANCOCK'S HALF-HOUR. His most striking roles were as "mad scientist" Harcourt Brown in ITV's PATHFINDERS TO MARS/VENUS (1960-61) and a DR. WHO episode . I also remember him as a merry Sultan in an episode of the now lost ASSIGNMENT FOREIGN LEGION TV series hosted by Merle Oberon where I think he played opposite Patrick McGoohan with whom he would later appeasr in a DANGER MAN episode.
Perhaps my very first memory was seeing him in the trailer of WOMAN EATER (1958) as "mad scientist" Dr. Moran eager to serve up delicacies like Vera Day to his carnivorous plant transplanted "back from Africa". I assume he left the US due to the blacklist?
